Torquay

Spent the weekend visiting some relatives on the coast in Torquay, which is about an hour south west of Melbourne by train. Had my first Aussie Barbie and also got to drive a ute - I'm like a native now.

Actually met some people who like to go out and have a beer. Went for a drink at the Torquay Hotel, which was full of girls sporting bunny ears. They definitely grabbed my attention for a while, but I was not to be put off a terrific run at pool and I left the table undefeated after a couple of hours. If you've seen me playing pool you'll know that the standard wasn't exactly high.

Spent the next couple of hours dancing and whooping in the manner to which I've become accustomed. Ended up on a girls couch after falling asleep mid-beer. Had the usual language barrier difficulties and had to say everything at least 3 times. Got roped into delivering a bath to her house on Sunday afternoon in the aforementioned ute. She wants to install it in her shed around the side of the house (the bath, not the ute). Whatever floats your boat.

Back in Melbourne now and out in Chapel Street tonight to meet some more ladies for a drink - they're friends of my cousin and have just got back to Australia after being in London for the past 6 years. Strange that, Aussie's in London. Anyway, it's a big night out tonight as most of Melbourne is off tomorrow for the Melbourne Cup so I'll have some of that.
