Work work work

Been so busy at work and without an internet connection at home that I haven't had a chance to update things here for a while. Poor me.

Anyway, the Black Crowes gig I mentioned last time was the nuts. There were a couple of singers and one of them was a ringer for Chris Robinson. A mini-me version. Bit of a rubbish picture here. Can't work out how to use the new fecking camera properly yet.

Session Crowes

The city all around the venue was getting put into lockdown for the APEC conference. There were massive steel fences erected along some of the main streets leading up to the opera house. Everyone I've spoken to from the northern hemisphere had no idea what it was and nor do I really. Other than the CBD was a virtual no-go zone last weekend and anyone who worked in the city got a day off on Friday. Some chap was arrested for crossing the street at one point.

In more personally satisfying news, I've discovered that the local pub does the best steak in town. Tasted some of that on Saturday night whilst watching the Sydney Swans getting dumped out of the AFL finals by Collingwood. My team, the Western Bulldogs, are well out of it already.

Ran off Saturday around the Bay Run, which is a 7km run around Iron Cove.

Also around Balmain there is a pub where the same jazz band has been playing for 35 years. They marked the anniversary on Sunday night and there were plenty of 3 generation families in attendance spinning around in front of the stage. Lovely it was.

Got all the forms in for the visa this week so just have to wait and see which bits I filled out wrong and get the chest x-ray, which is booked for Thursday.

Here's some pictures of the house and Balmain.
