Visa stuff

Was sent all the forms to apply for my Temporary Long Stay 457 Business Visa this week. Just rolls off the tongue, doesn't it? They want my whole life story and a chest x-ray to boot. Plus they want documentary proof of everything so I'm indebted to Michaela and Bex for sending over all the necessary documents I left in London.

In other visa related news, Ros McDaid has been given a years extension to her working holiday visa and we hope to meet up in the near future to celebrate.

Didn't make the quiz on Tuesday, which is probably just as well. Did go an amateur battle of the bands contest on Wednesday night at the Netwown RSL, which has been rebranded for the 21st century as @Newtown. Hmmmmmmm. One of the lads from work was playing in one of six bands trying to get through to the final. They didn't make the top three but it was only their 2nd gig and they were happy with the turn-out. I was happy with the Nasi Goreng and refreshments.

Think I'm off to see a Black Crowes tribute band on Saturday night. According to the blurb, "The cream of Sydney's best live and session players come together to share the love of The Crowes' music. This performance will shine like a gospel tinged love light". The beers not cheap though so it'd better be good.
