Arctic Monkeys were nothing short of fantastic live. The Hordern Pavilion was a good venue for them, just about the right size. Was very happy to have got tickets. We got them off eBay and were going to pay $250 for two tickets but it turned out Maryanne knew the guy so got them for face value - $150.
Met Roslyn McDaid and her fella (another Mike) on Saturday and went way out west to a place called the Mean Fiddler in a bus with about 20 other Irish folk. They weren't going to let us in because we didn't have shirts with collars on - bit old school that. Once the Irishness of the party was established we were allowed in wi nae bother like. Got the bus back into the city and was refused entry to one of the 24 hour drinking holes at 5:30am. Just as well.
Met Michelle on Sunday as she was playing a gig in Balmain. Was suitably impressed and she has a great voice. We're due to move on Friday - a decent house at long last.
Then saw The Simpsons Movie before the much anticipated return of English football. Met another couple of Utd fans in Cheers, which was packed for the match despite the midnight kick-off. And we beat Chelsea. Hooray.
