Sunny, sober weekend

The 2 Dave's didn't turn up on Saturday as their flight was cancelled. They were booked on the last flight out of Brisbane, which was delayed putting the arrival time in Sydney after the 11:30 curfew. Oh well.

I'm kind of glad as we had another awards ceremony after work on Friday. There was a ridiculous amount of free beer and a karaoke stage although I wasn't tempted into doing my famous rendition of Shaggy's Mr Bombastic (I got a standing ovation for that once, a long time ago now). Anyway, it was a pretty messy night and I once again woke up on a mate's sofa on the other side of town. Although I was up for meeting the lads, when they cancelled I was relieved to get home and relax.

We'd had a team lunch earlier on Friday afternoon at a tapas place on Pitt St - the most food ever with some good Spanish beer and sangria. The team was the web design team and I somehow got an invite to that. Last week's lunch was with the technology team so I'm happy with my position somewhere in the middle of a couple of different paying bosses.

When it came to the weekend it was all pretty quiet and didn't do much on Saturday or Sunday night. Had a walk round a part of the bay over to Birkenhead on Sunday afternoon and generally took it easy.

Didn't even go to watch Utd on Sunday night as it was a 1:00am kick-off. At least we won and got out of the relegation zone!? Orient continue to set the pace mind you - leading the way at this early stage.

The end result of all this clean living was that quite a few people remarked on how fresh I looked on Monday morning. It wont last.

Last Tuesday we gave the local trivia night a go and failed miserably. It's on again tonight so might try and show an improvement.
