First Weekend in Balmain

Woke up in Balmain on another blue sky morning on Saturday. Set off straight away to pick up the new bed from Bellevue Hill. That's close to where Darrin and Lauren live, whose house I was at after the Live Earth gig. Darrin got us a Ute and we got the bed all sorted. Couldn't fit it through the door at the bottom of the stairs to my room though. Had to drag it up over the balcony to get it in.

Then went to Ikea to get at least some bedroom furniture. Went with the girls from the house and it was lucky they were there as my colour blindness would have otherwise had me picking out a blatantly pink quilt cover that I thought was red.

Went out in the local area on Saturday night and was in a load of pubs before going onto the Bridge, which is the 24 hour pub in our neck of the woods. All humanity is represented there. Slept in to 5:00pm on Sunday after that. In bed. Simple things.

Think I've found my local in the midst of all that - The Welcome Hotel.

Been in contact with Dave Wood and Dave Cropper over the past couple of weeks - both ex-TDW lads I know from Leeds. They're in Brisbane but will be down in Sydney at the weekend. Am meeting them on Saturday afternoon in the Rocks at 12:00 so another productive weekend on the cards.

Oh, and I've got a new camera so will put some more pictures on here soon!
