Dodgy Pub Crawls

Went to see a lad from work playing in a band over at the Vanguard in Newtown on Friday night after team meet. Had a pie from Harry's in Haymarket on the way. We've also got a new pub across the road from work that looks like having good potential for a regular Friday lunching spot. Decent food ($9 steaks) and Erdinger on tap.

Went over to the Coogee Bay Hotel after the Vanguard and ended up leaving after talking rubbish to a total idiot who annoyed the hell out of me.

Met Dave Wood on Saturday and ended up going on a pub crawl around the city. We started off in the Australian in the Rocks but quickly decided on finding the worst pubs in town for a bit of a change. We certainly found some awful boozers alright, most of which I'd already been in at one point or other. There were too many to mention actually, but it beggars belief that these places are still in business. For my money it's a narrow choice between the Criterion on Sussex and Star Bar for the worst pub in the city.

Met Dave again on Sunday, not in a gay way, but for Sunday lunch with some rare as hens teeth Yorkshire Puddings. They were a bit of let down to be honest but good beef all the same. Melbourne Storm hammered Canberra in the NRL that afternoon too. And the Western Bulldogs won again - second in the league!

We continued the bad pub theme of the weekend and hit more rubbish establishments ending up at Strawberry Hills in Surry Hills where the average age was easily 60. It was packed out for a jazz band and a couple of old fellas were telling me a Dave where to go to pick up women, reeling off the names of most the crap pubs we'd been at over the past couple of days. I won a bottle of wine in the raffle mind you.

Had home made pizza night, including the dough, at home with Sam tonight. A little bit of effort goes a long way sometimes! Delightful it was.
