Sporting Weekend

There was a ton of sport on this weekend and the sun came out to celebrate. It was such a fine day I went over to Balmain to have some afternoon beers in the sunshine. Stayed over there all day as it turned out. We were building up to watching the Bledisloe Cup decider, which the Kiwis absolutely walked, followed by Liverpool vs Utd, which Liverpool absolutely walked.

Melbourne Storm were beaten in the NRL finals too although they get another chance to go through. In fact the only bright spark on my sporting horizon was the Western Bulldogs getting to the semi-finals of the AFL finals.

Woke up on Sunday morning over in Balmain and was treated to a fine pork roast. That made two pork roasts in 10 days as Sam had made an excellent roast on the Friday of the week before when I met some of her friends who lived with the Violent Femmes.

Friday just past was the Grand Final of the Austereo Awards when the yearly winners were announced on the rooftop. We now have a massive new BBQ, there was a shed load of beer and it was a delightfully warm evening. Here's to spring.
