2009

Well it's now 2009 and the fourth calendar year in which this blog has been written in Australia. I do like this country in case you hadn't guessed. We had a great time seeing in the new year down at Bondi Beach as I was telling you last time. All the poms like me loved Underworld and all the Aussies loved The Presets so a good night all in all.

Went to the Trinity in Surry Hills on New Years Day for some superb Fillet Mignon and few Coopers Pale but we were up to all hours on New Years Eve so it wasn't a late one by any stretch of the imagination. I worked from home on Friday 2nd, which was a great way to end the week. It had been a tough one alright. Had been in work on Monday to Wednesday but there was barely anyone else around so not exactly taxing.

Was up on the Central Coast last weekend for Amy's 30th birthday at her mum and dad's house. It has a rather pleasant view over a big lake but I can't remember what it's called. However, the weather wasn't great on Saturday for the BBQ and I had to even borrow a jumper. However, Sunday was a scorcher and I spent most of the day in their pool playing volleyball. I spent most of that night sleeping off my near sunstroke and when I was awake could barely see through a grey mist because of the chlorine in my eyes. Apart from that it was a good weekend.

There are a ton of live acts in town at this time of year for summer time and the Sydney Festival kicks off on Saturday. Lia and I went to see Santogold at the Forum on Tuesday night - a really great gig at a great venue. And this weekend Gomez are playing their Bring It On album in full at the Metro on Saturday night and Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings play the Becks Festival Bar on Sunday night.
