June so

Well, well it's June already and nearly time to head back home for a couple of weeks. Rather looking forward to it!

So Tara came up to visit last weekend and we took her out and about, dodging the torrential rain. I picked her up from the airport on Friday night at around 10:50pm and it certainly felt strange to be coherent, never mind driving, at that time. We only had a few beers in the house that night and then went for breakfast at a place called Naggy's on Glebe Point Road that Lia and I had found during the dark days of looking for a place to live. We went to Glebe Markets, had a beer in the Friend in Hand and then headed over to the Exchange. All very Inner West cosmopolitanism.

We ended up eating at Capitan Torres in the city, which I'm sure I've mentioned before. It has never let us down and was amazing once again - suckling pig, flathead, goat curry, chorizo, garlic mushrooms, more garlic and then some more garlic. Great.

That was a stark comparison to Pancakes on the Rocks in the Rocks where we went for breakfast on Sunday. Tara wanted to meet up with an old travelling companion who suggested going there. Muck it is, although I did note it's open 24 hours should an early morning need for pancakes arise.

Since I'm off for a few weeks soon I've been so flat out at work this week that it's gone by in a flash. Haven't had time to think let alone go out. Although we did get out for some more excellent food at a local joint called Tagine, which not surprisingly has a lot of Tagines on the menu. My word it was good. Although I think they should have spent less money on their website and more on interior toilets.

And the less said about the Champions League Final the better. I had the morning booked off work for it and went back to bed in the end. What a waste.

Hey Mike, are you popping by London or just going to Norn Iron? Would be great to catch up some time!
