Tigers v Cowboys

Went to see the Tigers v Cowboys at Leichardt Oval on Sunday. NRL it was, in case you're wondering. Was a really good game with a good crowd on the "hill". The Tigers even won despite conceding a try in the first minute. We certainly enjoyed the result. This is Darrin, Me, Jay and Robbie. I'm wearing a Tigers cap - you just can't tell in the photo!

Was an NRL themed week actually as the last game in this year's State of Origin was on. Watched that in Cheers with a couple of mates after trying some very dodgy alternatives in search of a big screen. NSW amazingly won the game after being hammered in the first two. Not as hammered as this chap. I didn't stay out late as the City to Surf training is wrecking my mornings. In fact I went to see a physio because of some pain in my knees. "Get some new shoes", were his words of wisdom so I've got them and am feeling in the running groove. The run is in three weeks and I'm still pretty sure I won't win but hope to get to the end.

Lia and I had some great seafood in Fishbowl on Saturday night. We've been eating out a fair bit recently - all part of the training regime. Had some lunch in the James Squire Brewhouse that afternoon in fact. Down in King Street Wharf in the sunshine, it was a perfect winter day. Fishbowl was after the first of the Bledisloe Cup games, which we watched at the Welcome with some diehard Wallaby fans who were not so pleased with the result. The contigent of MASSIVE New Zealanders were very happy though and I for one was not going to argue with them.

The weekend before we'd been helping Lia's Nan move house up in Gosford on the Sunday. Called into a place called Iguanas on the way back. Looks like it would be great in the summer but on a grey day in winter with a couple of acoustic guitars and some bad Country music it was not great at all. What is great is new pub just around the corner called Ruby L'otel. They have an impressive beer garden that has our names all over it for summer. Bring on summer!!
