A quiet week

It's been a quiet week alright here in Oz. Been working away (including a Saturday night for the first time since bar work in Belfast), going to the gym and not a lot else.

I did make it to the MCG again for the, now familiar, crushing defeat of England by Australia. This time in the day/night one day game so got there after work on Friday night. Despite the result the stadium continues to impress. However, England play New Zealand at the MCG soon so there's a slim chance to witness a victory there yet.

Melbournians are mad for their sport and the next big one is the Australian Open. A lot of people at work seem to have free tickets but can't go - there's been 3 sets offered around today alone. Tennis is, however, rubbish so I'm staying here to play darts and write this.

Much more exciting though, is what will happen when this contract finishes. Been doing some serious planning and will have a good 5 weeks to spend on the east coast travelling between Brisbane and Cairns, taking in the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Fraser Island and the Whitsunday Islands. One option for accommodation is the brilliant idea of couch surfing. I've signed up but have yet to commit as I've already spent a fair portion of the past couple of years on various couches.
