Anzac Day

Was at work for one day and then had yesterday off as it was Anzac Day, a public holiday. Went down to George St in the city centre to watch the parades of war veterans and marching bands. Love a good march.

They've a brilliant game that's only legal on Anzac Day called Two-Up. I was hooked and played it for about 6 hours in Scruffy Murphys losing about $150 in the process. Was ok for the first couple of hours but it seems that the amount of beer consumed is inversely proportional to the likelihood of correctly guessing the side of the coin that will be face up.

The betting was like those scenes in The Deer Hunter when they're all betting on the outcome of the Russian Roulette.

These are the two guys who were calling the spinning/betting along with a chap we nicknamed smiley spinning the coins.

The camera is back in action albeit with limited functionality.
