Live Earth and Beyond

Had an interesting weekend this week. Went to the Live Earth gig and did my bit for charity and the planet. A lot of people absolutely slated the gig because of poor organisation and having to queue for ages to get a beer. In fact, my friends there started queuing for a drink when I was still in the house. They were in a different part of the stadium from me and when I got there was able to queue up in a better place and get some beer, take my seat and have a good auld drink before they had even been served.

Because of the ticketing I wasn't able to meet up with the rest of them until after the gig. So, went round to Lauren and Darrin's house afterwards and stayed there all weekend, beer in hand. Some pictures below.

I had a free ticket for a preview screening of the new Harry Potter film on Monday night. It was at the IMAX cinema and there was to be 3D action somewhere along the line. So, it gets to the last 20 minutes or so and we get the signal to put on the 3D glasses. Everyone is getting into it all when the screen goes dark and the lights come up. After 10 minutes of nothing it comes back on but the sound is about 5 minutes behind. End of show and the last thing the announcer says is please make sure to leave by the door at the back. Waste of time.
