Claire Dodgson was in town in the middle of a 9 day trip to this side of the world with BA. So, went out with her on Monday night and had a number of drinks in the general area of the Opera House and the Rocks - not the cheapest of places, I'll grant you. Things rapidly took a nosedive, quite literally in Claire's case, and it was a brief night out.
Also met Ros McDaid and Mike, who I'd no idea were in Sydney until recently. Have now got their numbers and will make a point of keeping in contact. Was meant to meet Claire for lunch on Tuesday before she headed off again, but the previous night had taken it's toll and that was that.
Have another visitor booked in for a couple of weeks as Tara is coming up from Melbourne for a quick trip. Amazingly, it's the first time she's been in Sydney.
Also, things continue to look up with the flatmates. Had the best orange chocolate dessert on Tuesday night - my mouth's watering again. Even took a picture of it but haven't brought it with me.
Last weekend went out to meet Emily from work and her fiancee Aaron (the BAFTA award winning animator who I mentioned meeting a couple of weeks ago at the AFL). Emily is madly into Aussie Rules as well but unfortunately for her supports Melbourne and they're pretty rubbish. We were out watching them lose on Friday night against Collingwood. They live in Paddington so had a wander round the market for the first time and had some decent breakfast up in that direction on Saturday morning.
Rest of the weekend was spent getting a serious dose of man flu, which is hitting home just now.
Lastly, there were a couple of little baby dingoes in work yesterday. All the girls were running around ooohhhhhing and aaahhhhhhhing - alright so was I.
