After a 3 week hiatus in Northern Ireland, Yorkshire and London I am back in Sydney so think it appropriate to start writing again. Never has one man drank so much in such a short period of time without actually being an alcoholic. I've a load of picutres and they'll go on Facebook at some point.
The flight was delayed for about an hour and a half at Heathrow as an unwell woman had to get off the plane. We were sitting on the plane for that length of time. Other than that, around 24 hours of sitting upright in a seat and not really sleeping. However, the video entertainment is on-demand now so better than when I first came over.
Arrived in Sydney and it's been pissing down with rain for the past week. Thought I'd got out at London. Got back to the house and Michelle's mum and her mate were in my bed upstairs. They're not lesbians, but had been staying over after watching Michelle's album launch the night before. They bought me some beer to say thanks. Apparently, the album launch went down a storm.
Still haven't got the work visa sorted out and there's no sign of that changing any time soon. Spoke to my lawyer on Wednesday after landing and with the Dept of Immigration still in a "state of chaos" it may well be another couple of weeks yet before I can be gainfully employed. Was actually a little nervous about hitting immigration on the way in and presenting my entrance card. Not a word was said about it - they stamped my passport and that was it. Quarantine made more of a fuss of the 2 pounds of sweets I brought over from Belfast.
So, as a man of leisure I've had time to get over the jet-lag and reckon that now (Saturday) I'm back on an even keel. Tried to get round the Bay Run yesterday, was completely knackered and then my nose started bleeding. One step at a time, eh.
One exciting piece of news is that I've have booked a trip to Uluru for next week. It's a 3 day tour of the Uluru - Kata Tjuta National Park involving some camping and all that craic. Don't want to waste my time.
