Bon Jovi?

One of the perks of working in the entertainment industry is getting free tickets to see things that are of interest. It also encourages you to go and see things you would never dream of seeing. Case in point is Bon Jovi at the Acer Arena. Not really my cup of tea, I was amazed by the audience reaction - it was what I imagine a Televangelist audience to be like. Every person knew every word of every song being played and sung and waved their hands with a religious fervour. Like it was 1987. For Bon Jovi it really still is - my favourite moment was the Teenwolf style dance pose at the end of Bad Medicine.

The support act were a TripleM competition winner called Oh La La, but they were better than the name suggests. In fact, regular readers may remember I saw a Black Crowes tribute band some time ago and it was the very same Chris Robinson lookalike singing with the band. Even more coincidentally, the lad is older brother to another friend of mine. Small world indeed.

Work continues to remind me how great it was to be off for such a long period of time. If only the expenses could take care of themselves. Pay day was most welcome mind you.

We do have the first public holiday of the year, Australia Day, on Monday next. That is preceded by the Big Day Out on Friday in which Arcade Fire are playing, which is reason enough in itself for going.

Since the last post, which was a while ago admittedly, I've been out and about a fair bit to some of the events in the Sydney festival. Did manage to meet up with Dave Whittle as planned. Should meet up again this weekend with him and Dave Wood too for the late night FA Cup marathon.
