New Years Eve and beyond

New Years Eve was a great night out on Bondi Beach seeing Groove Armada in action. I left Melbourne that day when it was 42 degrees and got to Sydney where it was a much more pleasant 26. Went round to Lauren and Darrin's house for about 6:00pm and woke up on 2 January at 9:00am. Happy New Year.

A dopey fella at the SCG

Did nothing but sit and watch the cricket on TV that day. On the 3rd Karen Groogan arrived in town early doors and contacted me about going to the SCG to watch the game as she'd never been to one before. Perfect, I thought. Donned a wide brimmed hat and covered myself in factor 30+ for the day and there we were watching the game. However, we were in the sun all day and you could say I got a tad burnt. My knees copped most of the damage and I took a picture for posterity.

Ouch

As luck would have it I also had 2 tickets for the Kings of Leon in the Hordern Pavilion that same night. A quick spot of dinner later and the gig was on. The Kings of Leon were amazing as always.

The mighty Kings

Finally, met one of the Scottish bagpiping lads in Scubar, a backpackers bar in the city, before calling it a night on a rather special day out.

Met Ros for lunch yesterday and ended up in the pub all day keeping tabs on the cricket again, which is turning into a decent contest unlike the MCG test. May pop back to the ground on Sunday to see the finale.

Still no work! This time I'm waiting for someone at Austereo to sign the fecking employment contract. It seems that anyone with enough clout to sign the thing is off on holiday. The cheek of it.
