Espresso Martini

Met up with Caroline again on her way back from the UK. She arrived on Saturday morning bright and early so we made the most of a cracking day and went to the zoo, which was a suprisingly good day out. The photos are on Picasa but here's a preview.

Couldn't see the platypus however - they were hiding somewhere upstairs the wee buggers. Apart from that it was great.

These mountain goats were one of my favourites and had a right go at each other. Then all the rest of them (there were about 15 or so) joined in for a cliff side head butting session.

After seeing all those lovely kangaroos at the zoo I ate one in a pie over at the Australian pub in the Rocks. Then met up with Sam and some of her mates for a birthday party at the Paddington Bowling Club. Or the Paddo Bowlo as the Aussies like to say, shortening everything and putting an O on the end as they tend to do. The place is one of the top ten hidden gems in NSW apparently. We missed the bowling due to kangaroo pie consumption. Didn't miss the drinks though and ended up in Kings Cross drinking espresso martinis. First and last time I'll have one of those.

Had a quietish day on Sunday but had a roast in the Tea Gardens and then went to see Indiana Jones, which was a bit of a let down really.

Caroline has gone to stay with another mate tonight before heading back up to Airlie Beach. I'm now on the look out for some cheap flights to head up there for some more diving around the Whitsundays and hopefully the Yongala shipwreck.

Tara is visiting this weekend coming and Monday is a public holiday (for the Queen's birthday - why is there not one in the UK for that?) so planning to do some more vaguely tourist type activities.
