Another week in the city

I think I'm already starting to get itchy feet after nearly a month back at work so made an effort today to have a look round the city and do some tourist activity. Well, that's after a long lie-in. Watched the most overly hyped and boring FA Cup final in recent memory with a midnight kick-off last night. Rubbish game, rubbish result. It was odd watching it at that time of night, especially as there was a Bon Jovi cover band blaring away in the bar. They fairly got the crowd going to be fair to them, but it wasn't exactly Martin Tyler and Andy Gray.

So went on a tour of the Sydney Opera House today. Big building with 5 theatres in it. Called into the Fortune of War for a livener on the way home and there was an old school jazz band playing away in the corner. Tiny little pub but full of atmosphere. It's one of a couple of pubs that routinely claim to be the oldest in the city.

Had a real result with the flat. My flatmates keep on cooking for me. Had some delicious spicy Korean pancakes on Monday night and there was even enough for Tuesdays lunch. Got home on Tuesday and there's a plate of home made brownies in the kitchen too.

This Friday has been pencilled in for a boozing session with some people from work. We always have free beers on the rooftop from 4:30 on a Friday afternoon, but next week we're off for a pubcrawl afterwards. They want to get me "acquainted" with the city.

Met up with Corey, my diving buddy, on Friday night as he's in town briefly before heading back home. Were in Scruffy Murphy's again but it's all a little hazy as said free beers on the rooftop had been consumed.
