Visit from Melbourne

Tara was in town over the weekend so we spent the time doing a whirlwind tour of the city. I was showing her around like a true local. Took Friday off and meandered around the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge before hitting the many pubs in the city. Ended up in a restaurant called Baia in Darling Harbour, which is where I got awarded the prize of a free meal for sitting in the kitchen at work. Keep up. The meal was well tasty but I wouldn't have paid that much had it been my own cash. At the end of the night we left (with a carry out bottle of wine to make up the full value of the meal) and got chased up the road by a waiter thinking we'd done a runner.

Went to Paddy's Market in Chinatown on Saturday morning and then got the ferry up to Manly for fish and chips and a few steins in the Bavarian Beer Cafe on the wharf. Got back to Circular Quay and were talking to some Aussies there who absolutely loved Canada. Up to them.

Finished the night off in Kings Cross but have no idea about what happened there.

Went to Bondi Beach on Sunday for breakfast and a walk around the beach. Then Bondi Junction for more shopping (Tara, not me - pub). Saw Tara off to the airport and met Mary Anne from work for some great pizza on the north side of the harbour at the Oaks Bar.

Was a really good weekend apart from the flat mates, who have taken note leaving to a new level. I'm out of there as soon as possible. I've definitely left my mark though - in the shape of a massive red wine stain on the cream carpet. That went down a treat.

And you thought living with me in Lawrence street was bad!!! I have never laughed so much. Sounds like you're having a ball.
