Biennale

There is a major art exhibition on in Sydney at the minute spread around various sites in the harbour. Went over to see one of them at Cockatoo Island on Sunday afternoon. It was an old prison (what isn't in Sydney?) and then industrial site (ship-making) making it a pretty good venue for the type of exhibits on show.

As with most things of this nature some of was really good, some of it was utter rubbish and being there for any longer than 2 hours is a waste of time. One artist in particular is a madman. The last room in his exhibition was like something from Saw 2.

There was a bar on the island but I refrained and went to meet some mates over in Surry Hills afterwards instead. Had some beers there.

Continuing the cultural shift this weekend I'm off to hear Symphony No 9 at the Sydney Opera House, which will be my first concert at the famous venue. It'll be a bit different from the "orchestra" at the Sydney v Melbourne match the other week.

And the football is ramping up too - playing again tonight!
